Mark 12:24; Psalm 138:2; John 1:1-3; Hebrews 4:12; Jeremiah 23:29; Romans 1:16; 1 Peter 1:25; Psalm 19:7,8; 119: 9; John 15:3; Matthew 4:4; Psalm 33: 9,6; Matthew 7:28,29
God’s word and power are inseparable. They are a compatible team. God’s word carries the Infinite power. Therefore, ignorance of God’s word, His promises, statutes and judgments lead to a huge spiritual loss of divine strength, joy, peace, love and power over Satan, sin, sickness, self, etc. We should understand that God has magnified His Word above His own name (Psalm 138:2).God’s Word holds an ultimate, incredible, tough, magnificent, fabulous, marvelous power that undermines all oppositions and works mightily and wonderfully. It is sharp (Hebrews 4:12); it consumes; it breaks (Jeremiah 23:29); it promises; it builds (Acts 12:24); it is the LORD Himself ( John 1:1-3)
God’s Word restricts us from sinful deeds and sets a boundary and a landmark for us as Christians (Proverbs 23:10a). Anything outside the Word of God expands and enforces the Easy Way, the Destruction Freeway – there, there are no restrictions, no boundaries, no limits (Matthew 7:13-15). Thus, obedience to God’s Word is very very essential (Ecclesiastics 12:13; Joshua 1:8). It ignites the right hand of His power. Disobedience rather ignites His fury, wrath and damnation (Matthew 7:22-27; Hosea 4:6; Deuteronomy 28:15-68). The promise of an uncompromising ministry in God’s Word is great; teaching and preaching the whole counsel of God – an undiluted, unadulterated Word of God (Isaiah 48:17; 52:7). It forwards the power of God’s word to work in one’s life with maximum profits.
- THE POWER OF THE UNDILUTED WORD
God’s Word is above all. It is the Final Verdict of all cases regarding Heaven and Earth.
- It is sharper than a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12)
- It is the fire that kindles the fuel of faith (Jeremiah 23:29)
- It is the power to save (Romans 1:16)
- It endures forever (1 Peter 1:25)
- It makes clean (John 15:3; Psalm 119: 9)
- It is perfect, sure, right and pure (Psalm 19:7,8)
- It prevails over Satan and temptations (Matthew 4:1-11; Ephesians 6:10-13)
- It is life (Proverbs 4:22,23; John 6:63)
In this modern era, it is easy to notice how so called men of God neglect to preach the whole counsel of God but rather tell of their supernatural experiences and visions in the spiritual realm, leading gullible souls into unchecked desires for supernatural experiences rather than emphasizing on the totality of the whole counsel of God. Preachers of today have trickle a drop of God’s Word into a bucketful of human opinions. How can a drop of wine in a bucket of water get anyone drunk?! Similarly, a drop of God’s Word in a bucketful of human opinions, ideas, evaluations and suggestions can never get anyone drunk with the Word of God.
2. BENEFICIARIES OF THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD
Mark 12:24
(a) The deceitfulness of the unsaved (Acts 19:13-16)
An unsaved person finds it utterly impossible to use the power of God’s Word. He just doesn’t have the natural tendency to do so due to his/her Adamic nature. The Word can save anyone if applied with faith (Romans 1:16; 10:9,10). Only a saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost baptized believer who never compromises with the affairs of this detestable world, can boldly claim the right from the power of the Word.
(b) The decision of the wise (Job 32:21,22)
The wise, one who has experienced the wonderful touch of God and known Him, would never esteem the words of men and philosophies above God’s infinite word of power. Such a one gives not glory to men but to God (Colossians 2:8).
(c) The divine permit of a believer (Job 22:28)
Anything a believer requests by the power and on the basis of God’s word, is undoubtedly done. No power in the heavens, or on earth, land, sea, air and fire can hold it back. By basing and standing on God’s infallible promises, we receive all things. Evil spirits even instantaneously obey (Acts 13:6-11; Luke 10:17).
